What is this "Ask Me Anything?"
I want to share my passion for photography as well as create transparency between my clients and me, so on the 26th of every month, I will drop a post asking for questions on my IG and Facebook, and then on the 27th of each month, I'll answer them.
These questions can be about my editing process, approach to taking photos, dealing with clients, balancing passion with family, pricing, etc.
The best way to connect and get others into this art is to be wide open about what life is like and who the person is.
I view it the way I see a Farmer's Market: I'm not buying the cheapest honey or candles; I'm giving my money to the people I connect with and those on a mission I support.
These AMAs (Ask Me Anythings) are my way of letting you see the person behind the camera and hopefully removing any confusion you have about the craft of photography as well.
The Questions
1. Can you use already taken pictures and make a video with music like some of the ones on your page?
Direct Answer: Yes.
Explained Answer: Yes, but we'd have to work together on what it is you're looking for as length, style, and effects vary significantly from clip to clip, and with that, the time required to create the video varies, which will impact the cost.
Can I do it? Absolutely, but is it worth it for you? That depends on what you want; a DM or email would get the ball rolling, and I'd love go collaborate with you to make something to get people hyped or feeling the emotion of the moment.
2. Why are your prices so high?
I'm worth it.
I would never charge for something not worth that price.
My reputation is on the line here, and it's important I protect that; to date, I've not had a client tell me that I underdelivered on their money spent. In the same way you spend more at restaurants that give you higher quality food and a higher standard atmosphere, I, too, deliver more than a "Point and Shoot mini-session."
We are going to be creating art together; if you want my style, time, and undivided attention to your moment and someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to bring your vision to life, the price set will get you that and years from now, you'll forget the cost, and remember the moment.
3. Do you have a plan to monetize individual photos from sporting events?
Yes, I do my best to attend the sporting events that I can, primarily the middle school and high school, but those are all based on my schedule. I am going to be offering the service in 2024, where you can book me to cover your specific athlete for a cost.
I will also be offering team coverage, which can be covered by the entire team, which will reduce the cost to any individual.
Check the link below.
It's on a first-come, first-service basis, so make sure you book your athlete's or their team's event before someone else gets it.
I will continue to offer free coverage when it fits the schedule, but the photos shared will all be watermarked, and the full 4k watermark-free photo will be available for purchase/download.

4. Who got you into photography?
Nobody "got me into photography"; I was pulled to it.
But, for the sake of a better answer, I will say that my mother-in-law was the person who taught me how to use a camera properly.
Cindy (my MiL) is a very talented photographer herself and one who has both supported and challenged me (in a good way) throughout my journey to photography.
Her mentorship started when I was dating Jackie at 16 years old, and she was picking me up from football practice. It's been a long time, and bringing Z Photography to life has been something I've put off for far too long.
5. What are your goals for 2024?
Growth.
I want to improve my skills, I want to secure more partnerships with businesses, I want to get connected with local schools to capture their athletic events, I want to add more equipment to the gear bag, and I want to serve my community as best I can to capture the local beauty.
The way I've explained it, 2023 was the year of launching, 2024 we're flying, 2025 we're leaving the stratosphere.
